Cookie Policy
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file saved on the hard drive of your computer or laptop. Sites that handle transactions often use them to remember your login or a layout you have personalised. At Hey Spin we use our own cookies purely to make the site work.
How we set cookies
When you log on, our system places cookies on your device unless you have changed your browser to block them. You are free to refuse cookies at any time through your browser settings.
Google cookies on our site
Google cookies are also set on our site, among them those for Google Analytics and Google Ads. We use them for analytics and to personalise the adverts you see. By continuing to use the site, you agree to your personal data and these cookies being used to tailor advertising. Please use the site only if you are happy with this.
We use Google Analytics together with some of its advanced features, namely:
- remarketing through Google Analytics
- reports on demographics and interests
- impression reporting for the Google Display Network
- segments that let us analyse particular groups of sessions and users
Google publishes its own guidance on how it handles information from partner sites, how its adverts work and how it treats business data once you have given consent. We recommend reading it before you use our site. You can also check which interests Google has linked to you for advertisers, and switch off ad personalisation, in your Google ad settings.
How to opt out
If you would rather we and Google did not use your personal data, please leave the site and take these steps:
- add the opt-out extension that Google offers for Analytics to your browser, which works with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer 11
- turn off ad personalisation in your Google ad settings
- clear or block cookies from the googleadservices domain using the cookie options in your browser settings
- clear or block every cookie set by our own site in the same way
- consider opting out with the Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance as well
On Android, the browser cookie options sit under the menu in the top right corner, then Settings, then Privacy. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer and Silk each have their own cookie controls on desktop and mobile.
Questions
If you have any questions about cookies or your data, please write to our support team at [email protected] and they will pass data protection matters to our Data Protection Officer.
